Mandatory Minimums is a blog created by a follower of Jesus Christ who is living in the Western world.
The name of the blog isn’t from what someone might assume – it has little to do with criminal punishment, although the author is interested in the area of law.
Mandatory Minimums links in with the author’s faith – he believes that God has given us two mandatory minimum requirements before we can enter the Kingdom of God. These requirements are described in the Bible:
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
- Matthew 22:34-40 (NIV)
These are essential for us to accept and pursue if we wish to serve God, as well as if we are free of sin. They are attached to the laws of God, including the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Jesus, since to truly love God, we must obey his and his Son’s teachings.
This blog may produce opinions on very confronting issues – this is not a warning, but merely a foretelling of what is to come. Confronting issues are, in the author’s view, essential to confront (ironically), especially if one wants to further develop their system of beliefs and their relationship with God. The author therefore encourages readers to…um, keep reading… oh, and also to respond to the issues, not just to the author, but through their life.
The author has requested that no one pursue his details: this blog is anonymous, at least in terms of the true identity of the author. If a contributor does know the author, the author would ask the contributor not to reveal his identity. If anyone does pursue his identity, he will only respond by reminding questioners of this.
This is an insult-free blog: any comments of unnecessary nature will not be responded to, and only show the author and other contributors how little reason the offender can see. The author suggest that angered readers vent their anger on an inanimate object of no fragile nature that they own (preferably it should be an object of replaceable characteristics).
Finally, the author wishes to make it clear that the views expressed in this blog are not representative of the Church as a whole (or the Western world) - many people, both Christian and non-Christian, do not agree with his views, so it would be foolish to generalise his opinion to others.
As the above cannot be enforced, they are guidelines, but the author would like them obeyed nonetheless.
With regards,
Alexnader
